Chicago- Led by newly named Travel Michigan, Michigan's contingent of resorts, golf courses, convention and tourism bureaus were the talk of the 14th Annual Chicago Golf Show. Led by Don Wyckoff and Jeff Mason, Travel Michigan was able to assemble over 30 booths for this mega show. Two entire aisles were flying the Drive Michigan Banners and hosting thousands of winter weary Chicagoans. And if that wasn't enough, they flew in Michigan's number one A player, Rick Smith, to provide some lessons to the masses and to later hopnob with the media at a special Drive Michigan open house.

Given direction by Michigan's Golf Task Force, Travel Michigan encouraged booth participation in both of the high priority golf areas of Chicago and Toronto. The beauty of this show was the fact that Michigan had the Chicago show almost to itself. Most Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana resorts decided to go to the Golf Illinois show which will be held later this month.

Paul Beachnau, of Gaylord CVB, seemed to capture the thinking of all, when he said, "This is the kind of thing that Travel Michigan should be involved in. Their leadership in this project was outstanding. They really brought us together."
