MGN ON THE ROAD

Novi-Michigan Golf, Ski and Travel Show

This year's show, hit by a couple of sunny days, produced a modest
turnout of consumers. However, money was made and their were happy
faces here and there.

We chatted with Keith Gornick, owner of The Otsego Club, who indicated
that they were up a "tad" in golf business this year. Mark Hogan, Head
Professional at The Otsego Club, was also on hand talking up their new
"Take a Test Drive" program at The Otsego Club. Keith indicates that
it is time for another generation of families to join the club. Keith
will join in the new generation spirit himself as he awaits the birth
of his first child this month.

Mark Rich, of Blue Mountain, was in town letting everyone know that
their owner, Intrawest has invested a half of a BILLION DOLLARS in the
place. Want to find out more? Go to http://bluemountain.ca . It has a
very friendly website that will update you faster than you can say,
"How much is the exchange today?" This is now a major resort property
in America.

Boyne's Julie Ard, Public Relations and Steve McPhee, Director of Golf,
were on hand to chat with their customers about this year's ski and
next year's seasons.

The show featured a large number of golf retailers and they sold their
share of clubs.

Three ski vendors showed, Boyne, Blue Mountain and The Otsego Club.
Since they have both golf and skiing, the show was a nice fit for them.

BOYNE MOUNTAIN GRAND LODGE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY

Boyne USA Resorts, one of the leading owners and operators of
four-season destination resorts, proudly announces the re-commencement
of construction of the Mountain Grand Lodge. This four-star
condominium-hotel will be the anchor of the renaissance plan for Boyne
Mountain. The $50 million project, to be built by Clark Construction
Company, solidifies Boyne Mountain as the premier four-season
destination in the Midwest. The process of securing a financing
package reached completion this week and will be provided by Bank of
America and Wells Fargo.

The Mountain Grand Lodge will be the centerpiece of the Austrian/Swiss
architecturally-themed resort village. The condo-hotel will feature 160
suites of one, two and three bedrooms, most including fireplaces,
kitchenettes and whirlpools. An 18,000 square foot spa will offer
treatment, rejuvenation and state-of-the-art fitness facilities in
addition to spa menus and wellness programs. Various dining venues and
lounges planned for the property, paired with the sizable and flexible
meeting space available at Boyne Mountain, will make the Mountain Grand
Lodge a destination "hot spot" for vacationers and meeting planners
alike. An indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, ski-in/ski-out convenience
to Michigan's largest mountain and access to Boyne's 162 holes of
championship golf enhance Boyne's commitment to provide a true resort
experience. Guests of this luxurious lodge will also have convenient
access to an indoor waterpark, which will be structurally connected to
the property's north end.

"My father began development of a themed village on the late 1960's
here at Boyne Mountain, and this project is certainly an effort to keep
his vision alive," says Stephen Kircher, President of Boyne's Eastern
Operations. "With castle-like attributes of stone, stucco and wood, it
will captivate visitors both aesthetically and with unparalleled
amenities."

GOLF 20/20 CONFERENCE CONCLUDES WITH SENSE OF PROGRESS, COMMITMENT

More than 200 leaders from the golf industry came together at World
Golf Village for the fourth annual GOLF 20/20 conference and left today
with a universal sense of progress, optimism and commitment to the
future.

At the same time, there was general acknowledgement that golf cannot
stubbornly adhere to traditional ways of approaching its challenges
such as the pressures of time and other competitive activities. With
that, there was a willingness to look at creative new ways to attract
people to golf and to market the game.

Among the specific highlights of the conference were:

The announcement by PGA of America President M.G. Orender of Play Golf
America, an umbrella adult player development approach under which a
number of established programs will be included. Among them is Link Up
2 Golf, which GOLF 20/20 piloted in 2001 and the PGA has run since then
with the support of the National Golf Course Owners Association.

A report that in 2003, Link Up 2 Golf is being implemented at more than
214 facilities in 107 markets, up from the original pilot program of
nine. Statistics were presented to demonstrate that 82 percent of
graduates not only stick with the game, but continue to increase the
number of rounds they play and the dollars they spend on golf.

The introduction of the National School Golf Program, currently being
tested in 150 elementary schools around the nation. The program
features the training of physical education instructors to teach golf
in a fun and safe environment. Plans were announced to expand the
program to approximately 500 schools in 2004.

A compelling presentation by Madelyn Hochstein of DYG, Inc., about
societal changes in relation to the pressures of time, which helped to
focus the industry on the need for new and innovative ways to package
and market the game.

Agreement that there will be more emphasis on communication, both
within the industry and externally to the media and to the consumer, to
initiate a broader distribution of the useful information and key
messages generated by all the diverse groups within the industry.

STOP PHYLLIS IF YOU HAVE HEARD THIS

Wanda's dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman.
Since she had to go golfing the next day, she told the repairman, "I'll
leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the
counter, and I'll mail you a check.

Oh, by the way don't worry about my bulldog. He won't bother you. But,
whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!"
"I REPEAT, DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!"

When the repairman arrived at Wanda's apartment the following day, he
discovered the biggest, meanest looking bulldog he has ever seen. But,
just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the
repairman go about his work.

The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant
yelling, cursing and name calling. Finally the repairman couldn't
contain himself any longer and yelled, "Shut up, you stupid ugly
bird!" To which the parrot replied, "Get him, Spike!"
